EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A fire late Saturday night at a restaurant in East Providence is under investigation.
According to East Providence Battalion Fire Chief Joseph Crowshaw, crews were called to Asian Taste on Taunton Ave. just after 11:30 p.m. for a report of fire coming from the building.
When crews arrived on scene, they found fire coming from the roof of the structure.
Officials say a ventilator fan on the roof for the duct work in the restaurant caught fire, but have not determined an exact cause.
It took about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.
Th building has minor damage, but Battalion Chief Crowshaw says the restaurant will be closed for a couple of weeks.
There were no injures, and no other businesses were damaged.
