RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Two people have been hospitalized following a Saturday afternoon shooting in Richland County, and two deputies were hurt in a crash while leaving the scene to respond to more gunfire hours later, officials say.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said deputies were called to the 500 block of Calvary Road around 2 p.m. and found the two victims when they arrived. Deputies said a male victim had multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and a female victim had one gunshot wound to the lower body. Investigators also found property damage from the gunfire.
