BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Rain chances are on the rise beginning today as deeper moisture builds in from the east.

TODAY’S FORECAST

Clouds will continue to increase through the first part of the day, with highs once again reaching the low 90s. Storm development should hold off until late afternoon and evening, as cloud cover begins to break up.

The HRRR model valid at 7 pm shows a few storms developing late.

RAINY START TO THE WEEK

As moisture levels climb, so will storm coverage. Showers and storms are likely beginning Monday and continuing into the middle part of the workweek, before a more typical scattered storm pattern returns.

TROPICAL UPDATE

As of the Sunday morning 7 AM update, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring two areas for possible tropical development.
