The endangered Atlantic salmon once were plentiful in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The salmon used for the proposed farm would probably be genetically modified salmon which grow twice as fast. When they escape, they could destroy native salmon through predation, disease and interbreeding. They would also infect and eat other Bay fish species.
