SUPERIOR, Neb. (KSNB) - South central Nebraska experienced a round of severe weather overnight.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service - Hastings, for the second night in a row, parts of the area saw thunderstorms produce wind gusts of over 90 miles per hour. The strongest winds were in Nuckolls, and Thayer counties in Nebraska and Jewell County, Kansas.
The City of Superior posted a community update Sunday at 9:01 a.m. in regards to severe weather damage. Officials said they are aware of extensive damage and are working to restore power and clear streets.
Officials said businesses needing plywood for window closures can visit Kenny Lumber. Burn pit will not be open but Branch and limb collection will take place through Wednesday.
