Scottie Scheffler heads into the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship Sunday without longtime caddie Ted Scott, who returned home unexpectedly for a family matter, according to the PGA Tour . In his place, Brad Payne -- a PGA Tour chaplain who previously filled in for Scheffler during the third round of the 2024 PGA Championship -- will carry the bag.

Payne stepped in last year following Scheffler's unexpected arrest outside Valhalla and is a trusted friend and mentor to the reigning FedExCup champion.
