GLENN COUNTY, Calif. - Rescue crews in Glenn County found an elderly fisherman clinging to a tree limb next to his capsized boat on Black Butte Lake Friday.

The Glenn County Sheriff's Office says they began the search for the fisherman around 10 a.m.

Action News Now was on the scene when the rescue was completed less than an hour later. The rescue team returned to land as medical personnel checked on the fisherman on the other side of the lake.

Sgt. Grant Lemmon said the man was found on the Glenn County side of Black Butte Lake near some shrubs. His 12-foot boat had taken in water, and combined with the winds at the lake, had caused the boat to capsize.
