CARMICHAEL, Calif. —
Deputies are investigating a possible explosive device found near an apartment complex, the Sacramento Sheriff's Office said.
The investigation is unfolding in the 3500 block of Mission Avenue in the Carmichael area
Sacramento Metro Fire crews requested the assistance of the sheriff's office for explosive ordnance disposal assistance at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Metro Fire was initially dispatched to the scene due to reports of an unknown cylinder in the middle of the roadway, fire officials said.
There are no evacuations in place.
