A Delaware County woman has been arrested in Maine after, police there claim, her three-year-old daughter was found dead in her vehicle.

According to police, at about 5 a.m. on Sunday, officers apprehended Kelly Brown, 40, of Havertown after they responded to a business in Milford, Maine on Saturday evening to find a 3-year-old girl dead inside a vehicle registered to Brown.

Brown, the child's mother, was located nearby where the vehicle was found and was apprehended immediately, officials said.

Officials said Brown and her daughter were the subjects of an earlier attempt to locate and check on their well-being at the request of family members.
