DETROIT -- Kerry Carpenter hit a three-run homer and eight different Detroit Tigers recorded hits in a 9-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park.
The Tigers (68-51) took two of three from the Angels (56-62) to win just their second series since July 10.
Carpenter’s home run in the fourth inning off Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz was his 21st of the season, a new career high.
Riley Greene added a two-run homer off Angels reliever Carson Fulmer in the sixth. Nearly every Tiger got in on the action. At one point, every starter had a hit -- until Javier Baez’s infield single was retroactively switched to an error.
Tigers starter Casey Mize navigated traffic on the bases to pitch four scoreless innings before surrendering a two-run homer to Nolan Schanuel in
