It may not wear a crown, but this vehicle has quietly claimed the throne as America’s most stolen ride.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has emerged as the most targeted vehicle by car thieves in the United States, with a theft rate 39 times higher than average for 2022-2024 models, according to a new report from the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI).

The high-performance muscle car, which retails for approximately $75,400, has become particularly attractive to thieves due to its powerful engine and a specific vulnerability that makes it easier to steal, CBS News reports.

“In the case of Camaro ZL1, it is very desirable to thieves, and, on top of it, there’s a vulnerability that makes them relatively easy to steal,” Matt Moore, chief insurance operations officer at HLDI, explained.
