FARGO — A weeklong celebration of Pride concluded on Sunday in the Fargo-Moorhead area with a colorful parade down North Broadway.
The event, organized by Fargo-Moorhead Pride, included 150 walkers and 60 parade entries, according to Thane Solberg, chair of the organization. Solberg estimates between 3,000 and 4,000 people came out to the parade, lining Broadway as parade participants handed out candy and interacted with the crowd.
Though Pride Month is traditionally celebrated in June throughout the U.S., organizers in the FM region hold their events in August so members and supporters of the LGBTQ+ community can partake in other regional events.
