LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Carpetland (Lincoln East) defeated West Fargo (ND) 6 to 3 in the Central Plains Regional Championship. The Spartans advance to the American Legion World Series for the 2nd time in 3 years.
Both West Fargo and Carpetland were scoreless through 3 innings. In the bottom of the 4th, Carpetland’s Lewis Cockle hit a shallow ball to right field resulting in a 3 RBI double.
The momentum continued as Landon Moser and Brodie McIntire followed Cockle’s at bat with home runs. This gave Carpetland a commanding 6 to 0 lead.
West Fargo made the game closer scoring 3 runs in the 6th inning but could not come all the way back.
Carpetland (Lincoln East) now advances to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. The World Series starts August 14 and runs through Au
