CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Derek Anderson played much of the 2024 season both ways. He played defensive end and tight end.
In 2025, new head coach, Todd Stepsis is having Anderson go back to just playing tight end.
“I said, ‘I promise, I won’t make you do that again,” said Stepsis.
Anderson is a little relieved to have less on his plate.
“It was fun to do the both ways thing. It was what the team needed at that point. But as far as what the team needs now, and my own personal health, it’s kind of tough to do for a full season or anything like that. I was beat up enough after a half-season,” said Anderson.
