SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - In May, we introduced you to Gage Matzen , an engineer who was using his time on sabbatical to raise funds for the Veterans Community Project in Sioux Falls , doing so in a unique way: biking across the country . This week, he had the opportunity to meet the very veterans he was raising money for.

It was filled with good food and good company. The Veterans Community Project in Sioux Falls hosted a cookout to celebrate and invite Matzen. Consider it Gage’s victory lap.

It wasn’t an easy journey since we last heard from Matzen. Physically, he was tired, but healthy. However, his bike was not in great shape after just under 4,000 miles.
