Ridway, Pa. (WTAJ) -- After a couple of rough seasons, Ridgway made it back to the playoffs last year. The Elkers are generally known for an elite run game and a strong defense. Last season the run game was dominant as they averaged 287 rushing yards per game, but the defense struggled down the stretch.

On the year the Elkers defense allowed nearly 30 points per game. Fixing that unit has been one of the priorities this offseason for head coach Mark Heindl. The big change defensively will be changing to a 3-4 defense, which Heindle says is a scheme that will much better fit the personnel that they are bringing back, which includes seven starters from 2024.
