ROCKY HILL, Conn. — A man has died following a drowning incident Sunday afternoon at an outdoor pool in Rocky Hill, according to police.

Officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the pool at 98 Cold Spring Road around 3:08 p.m. for reports of a man in distress.

When they arrived, the man had been pulled from the water and paramedics were performing life-saving measures, police said in a statement.

Resuscitation efforts continued for about 20 minutes before the man was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary information suggests the incident was accidental, police said. The Rocky Hill Police Department is continuing to investigate. No additional information was immediately available.
