(CNN) - Visitors to the White House will no longer see the official portrait of former President Barack Obama.

That is because it was recently moved from the entryway to a far less visible location at the top of a restricted staircase.

The area is rarely seen by the public.

Portraits of former Presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush have also been moved to the same area.

The relocation of the portraits breaks the tradition that gives recent presidents prominent placement.

According to sources, President Donald Trump personally directs nearly all White House decor decisions.
