Jerry lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to others, and a deep love for the outdoors. Jerry graduated from Burnt Hills High School in 1957. His early years were filled with hard work and hands-on experience, he worked on his Uncle Pete's farm tending cows and pigs and slinging hay. At sixteen, he joined the county road crew, earning a tan so deep he joked he looked like Adonis.
