BAILEYVILLE-- Fire fighters have had their hands full with a stubborn wildfire in Baileyville. Forest rangers and Downeast firefighters have been battling a blaze off the Track Road. At last report it was about 21 acres in size and was zero percent contained. Crews have been using heavy equipment to carve a line around the fire with hopes of keeping it from spreading further. First responders on the Canadian side of the border are also keeping a close eye on the flames. Some crews were allowed to get some rest during the night, but they'll be back out there in the hot weather today trying to snuff out the fire.
