SAN FRANCISCO - The California Public Utilities Commission is inviting Liberty Utilities (CalPeco Electric) customers to participate in virtual public forums to discuss the utility's proposed rate increases.

According to the CPUC, Liberty Utilities is seeking a 19.1 percent increase in its base revenue requirement for 2025. Additional rate hikes are proposed for 2026 and 2027 as part of their General Rate Case application.

The forums are scheduled for August 21 at 2 p.m. and August 27 at 6 p.m. Customers can join via webcast or phone to share their views. While webcast participants can watch the proceedings, phone participants will have the opportunity to make verbal comments.

If approved, the rate increase would raise the average monthly bill for a non-CARE residential customer by $37
