Walkers has added two permanent flavours to its core range, launching Sticky Teriyaki and Masala Chicken. After a year of testing, a six-step process and 63 different flavour submissions, Walkers’ research and development team landed on two flavours to be added to the permanent lineup.
A study of crisp lovers found that they prefer the taste of the new flavours over the classics such as Cheese & Onion and Salt & Vinegar. Three-quarters of consumers said they would be much more likely to buy Masala Chicken than Prawn Cocktail; They would recommend Sticky Teriyaki over Cheese and Onion; and would be much more likely to choose both Sticky Teriyaki and Masala Chicken over the existing core range.
