The last time Jose Nava was seen, he was walking down the road with a Bible in his hand. He had been knocking on doors, reportedly looking for help after his vehicle broke down.

On February 28, 2021, he was seen around 10:30 p.m. at J Sewell Cove in Ecru while driving a white Jeep.
