Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia "must not receive any rewards" for its ongoing military assault on his country, ahead of the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska on Friday, August 15.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are set to meet to discuss a possible peace deal that ends Moscow's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, including a territorial settlement.

But Ukraine's European allies fear Trump will consent to Russia keeping the Ukrainian land it has seized during the invasion, something Kyiv has made clear it cannot tolerate.

"Russia is dragging out the war, and therefore it deserves stronger global pressure," Zelensky said in a post on X on Monday morning, after more engagements between Russian and Ukrainian forces on the frontline.
