The Boston Host Committee for the FIFA World Cup 2026 announced the launch of its official call for volunteers on Monday morning, inviting residents in Massachusetts and across New England to apply to be part of next year's big event.

As one of 16 host cities across North America, Boston will welcome the World Cup to the Greater Boston area net summer for seven matches, including one quarter-final game. The teams that will play here are scheduled to be announced later this year.
Organizers said in a release that volunteers will play "a crucial and critical role" in delivering an unforgettable experience for those attending from across the globe.
