Otto Sitterly is a nine-time Oswego Speedway track champion, and Saturday night’s dominating performance in winning the Mr. Supermodified crown moved him closer to a tenth Oswego track championship.
The $10,000 victory in the 38th running of this mid-summer special also tied this Canajoharie racer with Mike Ordway Sr. for most Mr. Supermodified wins with six.
After setting fast time and winning his qualifying heat, Sitterly redrew the pole for the 75-lap main event and went out and dominated the feature race from start to finish. At the checkered flag, the victor was eleven seconds ahead of second-place finisher Michael Barnes.
