A 77-year-old man who died after being pulled from the water at a Fairhaven beach last month was remembered in his obituary as a “man of many passions.”
Wayne Silveira died on July 22 after being pulled out of the Nasketucket Bay in Fairhaven. Silveira was unconscious and someone on the beach was attempting CPR when first responders arrived around 5 p.m. that day. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A graduate of New Bedford High School, Silveira served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an entrepreneur in “various roles” throughout his life, “always bringing dedication and energy to everything he pursued,” according to his obituary.
