A multivehicle crash killed two men on the Bronx River Parkway early Monday, closing southbound lanes approaching the Gun Hill Road exit as police investigated the incident.
NYPD officials said the pileup happened around 12:30 a.m. near the exit, though they were still determining the collision’s cause. The two men who died were ejected from mopeds during the crash, which also involved two cars, police said.
The NYPD said the men were 21- and 23-years-old, but did not identify them as police worked to notify their families. Both were pronounced dead at local hospitals.
Police took one person into custody at the scene, and he was not immediately charged, according to officials. Officials were looking into which car he was operating.
