A Butts County woman has been charged after Butts County Animal Control rescued 17 dogs from a Fenner Road home.
Cheyenne Peder, 23, has been charged with animal cruelty, and BCAO is busy caring for the severely emaciated animals and searching for foster homes.
“We received a complaint that there may be up to 20 dogs living in deplorable conditions,” said Lt. Crystal Williams of the local animal control. “With our investigation, we found two tethered adults, a heavily pregnant female and 14 severely emaciated (puppies) living inside the home.”
BCAO is in dire need of puppy food (Purina or Pedigree brand hard food) and puppy pads. They also desperately need volunteers and foster families.
Donations can be dropped off at BCAO, 158 Bibb Station Road, Jackson, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.
