It looks like Drake Maye still has some work to do in order to be considered a top-10 quarterback in the NFL . But there is one area where the New England Patriots QB is considered elite.

According to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky , it’s “second-reaction ability." Can a quarterback be creative and make a play out of nothing? That’s what Orlovsky values in Maye’s game, and what the NFL pundit believes the Patriots need to unleash this season.

"I’m watching for Maye to show what he can do here in 2025,“ Orlovsky wrote. ”The Patriots would be smart to let Maye loose on these types of plays, especially because they improved his supporting cast. Having better playmakers means it’s more likely someone gets open late in the down."
