RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) - A woman accused of fleeing from a detention center has been captured following a search early Monday morning in Western North Carolina.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office announced that 21-year-old Maya Camile Greene was apprehended after authorities had been searching for the suspect for almost three hours in the county.

Greene was arrested by the Rutherford Police Department on an order for arrest for failure to appear in court, as well as warrants for misdemeanor larceny and resisting a public officer.

Around 1:54 a.m., deputies said Greene left the Rutherford County Detention Center on foot by exiting through the magistrate's office. The suspect was being served her conditions of release from the magistrate and fled the area toward North Washingt
