WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - State police are in search of a suspect in connection with a high-speed chase on I-91 south that ended in the West Springfield area.
State police spokesperson Tim McGuirk told 22News, troopers tried to stop a driver around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, but they sped off, leading police on a chase, hitting more than 100 miles per hour.
McGuirk says police eventually used "stop sticks" to stop the car, blowing a tire and causing the vehicle to strike a police cruiser. Two people ran from the vehicle, and one was caught but the driver escaped.
McGuirk says they searched the area for the suspect but never found them.
