There were close to 80 souped up cars at CanJam 2025 on display at the Knights of Columbus site in Brantford on Saturday and everyone of them had a story.

For Paul Dacosta of Strathroy, the story of his pride and joy began in the Golden State.

“December 15, 1965 was its build date,” Dacosta said. “It was built in San Jose, California by one of the Mustang plants at that time was building them and it was sold in Los Angeles.

“It spent 14 years there and then it spent the next 24 years in a garage in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.”

Dacosta said a Sault Ste Marie man had purchased it with the idea of restoring it with his son.

“But the guy who bought it passed away and the son didn’t want anything to do with it and put it up for sale,” Dacosta said. “I bought it and I’ve owned it ever since.
