Gas prices took the elevator up and it looks like the escalator down. Or some would say, it’s a sticky downturn.
The average price of a gallon of regular in the Philadelphia market dropped 3.0 cents in the week ending Sunday after a 10-cent rise the week before, according to GasBuddy’s crunching of the numbers of 979 stations in the market..
The new average of $3.20 per gallon is three-tenths of a cent lower than a month ago and 23.8 cents lower than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in the market was $2.91 per gallon, up 2 cents in a week, and the most expensive was $4.49, down 40 cents.
The market includes sections of Wilmington and New Jersey, where prices are nearly always lower than Pennsylvania. The average also includes the Costco, Sam’s and B
