Reform UK told men to use the same toilets as women – despite speaking about the importance of single sex spaces.
The apparent double standards took place as the right-wing party held a press conference in Westminster about cracking down on violence against women and girls.
The use of toilets has become a hot-button issue ever since the Supreme Court ruled that a woman is legally defined by biological sex, sparking a wider debate about what public facilities a trans person can use.
In Reform’s manifesto , it also calls for a ban on what it calls a “transgender ideology” and insists “schools must have single sex facilities”.
