Saturday is National Thrift Shop Day.

To celebrate the occasion that provides the perfect excuse to shop for secondhand treasures, Salvation Army Thrift Stores will be offering shoppers who spend $30 a $10 coupon towards a future visit.

The coupon expires a month after issue (on September 16).

The Salvation Army has 30 thrift stores throughout southeast Michigan offering shoppers everything from books and clothing to jewelry, toys, furniture and sporting goods.

The National Thrift Shop Day promotion is designed to help families stretch their budgets while also helping to support The Salvation Army’s nonprofit Adult Rehabilitation Center in Detroit.

The program directly supports individuals throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties working to rebuild their lives.
