At least one person is dead and dozens of people are injured after an earthquake shook Turkey over the weekend.

The 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the northwestern province of Balikesir on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 10, according to the Associated Press and the BBC .

The quake was recorded just before 8 p.m. local time, the BBC and Reuters reported.
