The UK's biggest independent toy retailer is making a groundbreaking shift by handing over full ownership to its 1,900 employees next month.
Founder Gary Grant, 66, who launched his first shop in Buckinghamshire in 1981, is to transfer 100 per cent of the business into an employee trust.
As a result, its employees will receive a share of the profits and will get a say in how the firm is run.
The Entertainer group, which is behind Early Learning Centre toys, now runs some 160 shops and 1,000 concessions across the UK in retailers like Tesco and Marks & Spencer.
Grant said it was a "momentous day" for the family, adding: "Over the last 44 years, we have invested our working lives into this business.
