BEAUMONT, Texas — A 29-year-old Southeast Texas man faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter after a fiery crash on Interstate 10 early Saturday morning killed two people and injured two others.

Jesus Mario Medina, 29, was arrested following the collision that occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m. on Aug. 9, 2025 in the 800 block of Interstate 10 North over Harrison Avenue. Both vehicles involved in the crash "erupted into flames upon impact," according to Beaumont police.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene after being found inside a 2014 Ford passenger car that was "fully engulfed" in flames. Two others were taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital in unknown conditions.

The two people killed in the wreck have not been identified yet, police said Monday morning.
