AMITE, La. (WVUE) - A man was found dead in a vehicle in the Amite area over the weekend.

The sheriff’s office says that deputies were dispatched to Bennett Road, where a crash was reported around 3:15 Sunday (Aug. 10) morning.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle in a ditch and the victim inside, shot to death.
