It has been a tough year for Amtrak. Privatization comments hurt its credibility. Additionally, challenges persist in competing with other rail lines from around the world that appear to be ahead of the game.

At the very least, Amtrak is seeing positive growth. Amtrak Virginia saw a record-breaking 1.4 million riders, an impressive increase of 4.8%. Amtrak is hoping to improve on these numbers, while upgrading with its Acela trains, promising the Next-Gen of train travel in the United States.

For now, passengers have a lot to discuss online, including certain rule changes or the absence of them. It appears that one particular annoyance has yet to be addressed and continues to occur among Amtrak employees.
