After a week off due to scheduling issues, the trial of a Hallandale Beach man accused of murdering his girlfriend resumed on Monday.

Closing arguments started Monday morning as prosecutors try to prove that Adam Crespo killed his longtime partner, Silvia Galva, at their Hallandale Beach condo apartment in 2019.

The 49-year-old is facing second-degree murder.

During his interrogation, Crespo told officers that after an intense argument and he grabbed Galva by the ankles and began to pull her off the bed.

He said he turned his head, heard the wooden spear attached to their bed crack, and she was impaled.

His defense attorneys brought up witnesses to give scenarios on how this could have been an accident, but prosecutors said it was an intentional murder.
