Days after two people were found dead inside a home in Southwest Miami-Dade that went up in flames , one of the victims was identified on Monday.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, the victim was identified as 58-year-old Aileen Cruz.

The fire broke out at the home in the 10800 block of Southwest 67th Drive in Kendall on Friday at around 9 a.m.

When Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene, they extinguished the flames and discovered two bodies inside the house.

Neighbors said they saw smoke, then heard the sirens as firefighters responded.

"I see the firemen try to open the shutters, they couldn’t, so they start doing the door. That door over there where you see smoke on the top. Yes. They rip it off from the frame in order to go in," one neighbor said.
