MEDINA, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that one person was killed and another injured after a crash involving several vehicles on I-71 in Medina County on Sunday.
According to a release from the OSHP, the crash happened at approximately 11:42 a.m. A Chrysler 200 and a Ford F250 hauling a fifth wheel trailer were both heading northbound on I-71 near milepost 206 in Westfield Township.
"The Chrysler 200 was traveling at a high rate of speed and sideswiped the Ford F250 hauling the trailer, causing it to lose control and overturn. The Ford F250 subsequently became detached from the trailer, went over a bridge overpass, and traveled down an embankment where it landed on railroad tracks before becoming fully engulfed in flames," the OSHP explained in its release.
