PEORIA, Ariz. — School is back in session in the Peoria Unified School District, and this year, new teachers are starting their year having completed more artificial intelligence training.

The workshop is aimed at training new educators in the district to streamline tasks using AI. It's an effort to open more classroom time to connect with students.

Throughout the trainings, Peoria Unified's Lead Instructional Technology Coach Roxy Thompson said there's a strong emphasis on ethics. Thompson works with teachers to balance using the benefits of the AI tools while not being too reliant on them.
