An 18-year-old man has died following a car crash on the B5305 near Hesket Newmarket.

The passenger died at the scene on 9 August 2025. While Cumbria Police say the driver, also an 18-year-old man from Carlisle, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. There was only one car involved, a red Vauxhall Astra.

The police are urging anyone with information to call Cumbria Police on 101, quoting the incident number 188 of Saturday, 9 August 2025.
