STOCKTON, Calif. —
A 19-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old boy was injured in a shooting early Monday morning in Stockton, officials said.
Officers were dispatched around 12:12 a.m. to a possible shooting reported at Caldwell Park on Allston Way. Upon arrival, two people were found with gunshot wounds, the Stockton Police Department said.
The 19-year-old died at the hospital and the 17-year-old is in stable condition. Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information can contact Stockton Crime Stoppers at 209-946-0600, the police department said.
This was the 23rd homicide to occur in Stockton so far this year.
