A man who was previously arrested for setting fire to a room in Miami-Dade is facing new charges after being accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend, deputies said.

Luis Fernando Garces, 58, was charged with aggravated stalking and extortion.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, on Feb. 16, the victim called deputies and told them that Garces had been harassing her by texting her sexually explicit images of herself that she had sent him during their relationship.

An arrest report said the two were dating for about seven years and lived together for two years, but had been separated since November 2024.

Months after the victim told deputies she was being harassed by Garces, she said that he posted the images on his Instagram account, the report said.
