For Golden Gaels linebacker Justin Pace, the graduation of a couple of talented teammates from last season have translated into both a void he hopes to fill and an opportunity to showcase himself for the pros.
The 2024 season could have hardly been more auspicious for Pace, who at year’s end earned First-Team All-Canadian honours. Pace’s numbers only start to tell the story: 52.5 tackles (38 solo, 29 assisted), 2.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Pace’s 52.5 tackles were third in the OUA.
With the graduation of two key starters from last year’s defensive unit, linemen Darien Newell and Silas Hubert, the Gaels will be looking to Pace to show the way even more so in the season ahead. It seems like filling their void on the Queen’s D will be a by-co
