COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - An Omaha man was sentenced to federal prison on charges relating to drug and firearm possession last week.

A release from the U.S. Department of Justice says 41-year-old Rafael Rashad Adams was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

As there is no parole in the federal system, Adams will serve a three year term of supervised release after his sentence.

According to court documents, Adams was found by Council Bluffs police passed out in the front seat of a car with front-end damage near South Expressway and 30th Avenue in September of 2024.
